A small, round gold sun hangs at the end of a fine chain, a simple little piece that brings a bit of brightness whatever the weather's doing outside. It's made from stainless steel, which has a thin natural layer of chromium oxide that protects it from corrosion and re-forms when the surface gets scuffed, so it resists rust and tarnish. The gold finish is PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition), a much tougher coating than standard gold plating. No plated jewellery keeps its colour forever, but this one holds it for a very long time.
