Our Story

Harbour & Tide is a modern local beach store selling goods for seaside life. With a focus on functional, joyful and sustainable products, Harbour & Tide launched as a pop-up in summer 2022 offering beach essentials; from sunglasses, towels, hats, beach toys and beach bags to coastal lifestyle and gifts with a range of stationery, books and natural beauty products.

Spring 2023 saw Harbour & Tide open their first permanent store in the popular town of Margate, neighbours to the Turner Contemporary and new destination The Fort Road Hotel. Margate was recently listed in the top 15 places in the UK to visit for 2023 by Time Out.

Founder Katy Lassen is a fashion stylist and art director who has lived in Ramsgate for over 6 years. Like many people, the pandemic was a catalyst for change. With more time spent at home, Katy took up sea swimming and shifted focus from the London commute to spending more time in the area and becoming more involved in the local community.

Spending more time on the beach with friends and family, she noticed an opportunity to contribute to the local economy whilst providing products that locals and visitors can use to make the most of their time by the sea.
